Bruno Martins, general-manager at the Vila Baleira hotels, believes that this 'excellent sanitary control' and organization of the resort services are the correct way to move forward and work in the coming months, giving guests 'all the safety'.
He also stresses the hotel's need to adapt to the current situation, by offering tests and quelling fears. The bet is on campaigns raising awareness and spreading information about the world's safest destinations, which include Madeira and Porto Santo.
Bruno Martins notes that 'everything begins with 'the decision to travel: ''doing a diagnostic test and the insurance included in travel packages allows one to be reimbursed for the total amount of the reservation should one test positive in the 72 hours before departing'.
In spite of this control, and should something happen, insurance covers all the assistance and repatriation expenses.
The general-manager is sure that this investment will spread a 'wider feeling of safety'.
Another of the benefits of betting on this destination for these summer holidays is the acknowledgment of the European Best Destinations Organization (EBD), an organization under the tutelage of the European Commission which elected the beach of Porto Santo as one of the ten safest European beaches.
The general-manager of this Porto Santo hotel unit is convinced that occupancy rates will increase over the coming weeks.
In spite of everything, he also foresees that they will have 'a hotel with a lower occupancy rate but faithful to our identity'.
