Madeira runs for Europe’s Leading Island Destination

Voting for the World Travel Awards is underway until August 6th.

 

The bearer of the moniker for Europe and the World’s 2016 Leading Island Destination, Madeira, is once again running for the title of Europe’s Leading Island Destination in 2017. Amongst its fellow contestants feature the Azores, the Balearic islands, the Canary islands, Crete, Cyprus, Guernsey, Jersey, Malta, Sardinia and Sicily.

This edition of the World Travel Awards (WTA) sees Portugal represented in a grand total of 111 nominations in 52 categories. In the 2016 edition, Portugal won a total of 22 European awards.

The polls will run until August 6th. You can vote for your favourite destinations directly at the event’s websites.

There are also several hotels in Madeira competing for the title of Portugal’s best. You can read the list of competitors and cast your vote online at the WTA’s webpage.
