Funchal on the inaugural route of the MSC Seaside

You can board MSC Cruises’ newest vessel in Funchal. 

MSC Cruises announced three new cruises for the maiden voyage of MSC Seaside for the Portuguese market. This is the firm’s 14th vessel, to be inaugurated on November 30th this year at an event in Trieste, Northwest Italy, before beginning his maiden voyage to Miami, where the official naming ceremony will take place on December 21st.

After the MSC Seaside launch ceremony, a 9-night cruise to Funchal is to depart on December 1st. Leaving from Trieste, this maiden voyage will also call at Messina, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona and Cadiz before arriving in Madeira on December 10th.

For the Portuguese who want to know the new concept of cruise that privileges a holiday experience closer to the sea, but on a shorter trip, it will also be possible to board the MSC Seaside in Barcelona. Starting on December 6th, a 4-night cruise is available on this inaugural trip calling at Cadiz and landing in Funchal.

After the inaugural MSC Seaside in Funchal on the 10th December, there is also the possibility of embarking on its transatlantic voyage to the Caribbean. On an 11-night cruise to Miami, calling at Santa Cruz de Tenerife, St. John and San Juan, the Portuguese will be able to enjoy the new and elegant beach condo concept, the promenade around the entire ship, as well as all the special outdoor design that the innovative MSC Seaside can provide.

The 323-meter-long vessel with a gross tonnage of 160,000 tonnes, the fleet’s 14th ship and the second to be delivered under the second expansion phase which started with the MSC Meraviglia, in June, will have a maximum capacity of 5,179 passengers, where 1,315 of the cabins have a balcony.

The MSC Seaside is MSC Cruises' first Seaside-class vessel and starting December 23rd 2017, will depart from Miami harbour from where it will be cruising the Western and Eastern Caribbean islands for the rest of the year.
