Reid’s launches William restaurant

Belmond Reid’s Palace has just launched a new gastronomic project named William which proposes a creative approach towards modern European food. Contemporary cuisine gathers the best products from Madeira and beyond.

Under the influence of modern international cuisine and innovative flavours, this new approach will showcase the best seasonal ingredients from Madeira.

The new project will be housed by the premises where Les Faunes, one of the restaurants of the historic hotel, used to be. The enterprise will be led by Luis Pestana, Executive Chef at Belmond Reid’s Palace and supervised by Chef Joachim Koerper, holder of a Michelin star.

The William is presented as an homage to someone described as visionary, innovative and creative. William Reid was an Englishman who came to Madeira in search of fame and fortune and ended up becoming one of the forerunners in the Madeiran hotel trade. His biggest dream, Belmond Reid’s Palace is, still today, Madeira’s most historically significant hotel.
