Funchal takes 2nd place when it comes to destinations searched by the Portuguese, says Momondo.
In a ‘2016 Travel Trends’ survey carried out by Momondo, the platform points to Funchal as being the second destination most searched by Portuguese people.
For those wo are not acquainted with it, Momondo is a travel search tool which finds and compares prices relating to travels, hotel rooms, rent-a-cars and even holiday houses.
In its most recent search, this engine surveyed the most searched for destinations in Portugal revealing the travel habits of Portuguese consumers.
The data collected from 1002 Portuguese participants relating to their travels between June 1st and September 30th 2016 from the airports of Lisbon, Oporto and Faro illustrate Funchal as taking second place in the ‘Top 10 most searched for destinations’.
Ruling this top is Ponta Delgada, a Portuguese city located on the island of São Miguel in the Autonomous Region of the Azores.
Fábio Pereira, Marketing Manager for Momondo Portugal notes how the Portuguese usually look for beach destinations, 65%, or city breaks, 26%.
