Nature Festival kicks off on October 4

October with sport, ethnography and activities at sea, in the mountains and in the air.

The Nature Festival is already in its seventh edition and has activities all over the island, from trekking, mountain biking, diving, kayaking, stand up paddle, sailing, visiting Monte's gardens, paragliding and even catamaran riding. These are some of the many activities you can enjoy over a week.

You can sign up for free at the Tourist Information Office of Avenida Arriaga be it for activities to do in the mountains, at sea or even on the air, but only until October 3rd. You will be required to present your citizen's card, national identity card or some other means of identification. This Festival covers 5 municipalities with the aim of raising interest and bringing attention to all that Madeira and Porto Santo have to offer throughout the year.

According to the Regional Secretary for the Economy, Tourism and Culture, Eduardo Jesus, this is a promotional strategy because it serves several purposes simultaneously: it affirms Madeira as an active tourism destination; disseminates and values ??the different activities that can be practiced all year long; reinforces the projection of the destination associated with sport and finally renews the offer of tourist entertainment in order to meet increasingly active tourists.

An event that combines sports, entertainment, ethnography and Madeiran culture and also has local gastronomy, concerts and performances by folklore groups in the centre of Arriaga Avenue at 3:00 p.m. and in Praça da Restauração from 2:00 p.m. onwards, every day until October 8th.

The 2017 Nature Festival starts at 8:45 a.m. on Wednesday, October 4th, with bird watching in Machico, departing from Avenida do Mar, next to the Palace of São Lourenço.
