The Ritual do Sal

There is a new reason to visit the coastal area near Ribeira do Natal, from sunrise to sunset and beyond.

The setting is idyllic, located just fifteen metres off a kilometre long beach, the one near Ribeira do Natal. It was here, in the parish of Caniçal, that the Ritual do Sal (Salt Ritual) was born.

The concept is simple: a beach bar where cocktails and fresh drinks are the reasons why people visit. But there is also ice creams, toast and other light snacks, ideal for a day at the beach.

Over the night, while the place remains the same, its atmosphere is transformed as it becomes an outdoor nightclub which will be host to fashion events and live music.

Just 20 minutes away from Funchal, the casual concept of space meets the tender pleasures of poetry. The Ritual’s walls are adorned with poems by several journalists.

The Ritual do Sal is open from 12 a.m. to 8 p.m. on Sundays, Mondays and Tuesdays, instead closing at 2 a.m. in the remainder of the week.

Known for its crystal clear waters and several of its bays, this part of the island now gains a new space which has set itself the goal of becoming a reference not only when it is time to go for a swim, but also for when the sun has already set.
