Madeira Film Experirience

The Madeira Film Experience covers the history of the island in a thirty minute film.

Who were the first people to know of Madeira? Which European emperor died on the island? Where was football played for the very first time in Portugal?

These are some of the questions answered in a film exhibited by the Madeira Film Experience covering six hundred years of history in thirty minutes.

The discovery of the island, the Portuguese settlers, sugar production, the importance of the Portuguese Discoveries, the revolutions, the famine and struggle against isolation are some of the topics explained during the film which can be viewed in the former cinema at the Marina Shopping Centre.

The video is available in Portuguese, English, French, German and Dutch in a room equipped with a simultaneous translation system which allows for several people of different nationalities to watch the film together.
