In June, fireworks blend with music every Saturday.
In June, every Saturday eve is filled with light thanks to the Atlantic Festival.
Between the 4th and the 25th of June, fireworks light the skies with explosions of colour to the sound of music for approximately twenty five minutes over the bay of Funchal.
As is usual with this event, this year’s edition has a competitive side to it. Vying for victory are competitors of four different nationalities: Ukrainian; Italian, Chinese and Portuguese.
What’s special about this year’s Atlantic Festival is that it aggregates other events such as the 16th Century Market of Machico and the Atlantic Roots Festival, to be held at Quinta Magnólia.
