Jazzing through the weekend

The João Paulo Esteves da Silva trio is set to play at the opening of the new musical season at SCAT.

The evenings of the 16th and 17th of September will be full of Jazz at the SCAT Music Club. Performing at the opening of the new musical season in this space is the João Paulo Esteves da Silva trio.

The 2016/17 programme starts in the best way possible with a performance by the trio comprising João Paulo Esteves da Silva, piano, Bernardo Moreira, bass and Paulo Bandeira, drums.

For those who do not know him, this Lisbon pianist trained at the National Conservatory and born into a family of musicians is already a landmark in the national jazz scene having collaborated with many of the great ones such as Ségio Godinho, Fausto, Maria João and many others.

This is an artist who has been going beyond borders ever since his stay in Paris where he deepened his musical knowledge at the Rueil-Malmaison Conservatory and won the Médaille d’Or, Prix Jacques Dupont, Prix d’Excellence and Prix de Perfectionement. Nowadays his career is reaching the US where he performed at a concert room in Carnegie Hall.

Already with deep roots in the world of jazz, he is held as an eclectic artist whose work ranges widely from playing to composing and orchestrating works f many and varied musical shades.

This is sure to be a smart and stimulating performance, one not to be missed at the SCAT Music Club.
