I was born here in the beautiful Madeira archipelago, more specifically, in the Island of Madeira and even I acknowledge that I do not know it in its entirety.

To explore the Island is one of the most fantastic situations we can put ourselves in, it takes us to another paradise. As we walk, with each step we take, we find new situations and a feeling of something yet unseen is born in us, which is difficult to express in words.

Each trail we walk, be it in the South, North, East or West is always different. Even each walker will enjoy his walk differently as he finds landscapes, trees, varied fauna, such as birds, and other things.

Because we live in an island and as such, it’s easier to get stressed, there is nothing better than going for a walk and we do not need to leave this lovely island to experience what looks like paintings.

Countryside walks through the royal pathways with my wife Otília came to a halt when my daughter Filomena was born, but now that she is grown up, and together with Catarina, we thought it was time to return to these pathways since in the meantime, nature had surely changed them and created new ones as well.
