The traditional Christmas ballet will be at the Baltazar Dias Theatre for four days of magic.
The Ballet Company of Madeira together with the Carlos Fernandes Ballet School and the Town Hall of Funchal, is bringing the traditional Christmas ‘Nutcracker’ Ballet to town in December.
Sessions, to start on December 15th, tell the story of a magician toymaker and a young girl named Clara. Upon being given a nutcracker which is actually an enchanted prince and has to fight the Mouse King to break the spell. A magical trip which will take the audience to enchanted places such as the Snow Country and the Land of Sweets.
The event has the artistic direction of Marta Atayde and is coordinated by Flávio Abreu and founding director Carlos Fernandes.
