The future PortoBay Marquês will be the group’s 12th hotel unit.
The PortoBay Hotels & Resorts group is preparing to reinforce its investment in Lisbon by acquiring a 4 star boutique hotel in the city.
It is the Avis Hotel. Located next to the Avenida da Liberdade and the statue of the Marquee of Pombal, its inauguration is expected for the beginning of next semester in 2016, under the name PortoBay Marquês blending the concepts of homy and multigenerational.
The decision to make this investment comes out of a series of positive results obtained with the 5 star PortoBay Liberdade and in the opportunity of synergy between the two, which may come to benefit guests.
This will be become the 12th hotel unit for the hotelier group based on Madeira Island.
The PortoBay Hotels & Resorts’ portfolio comprises nine hotels in Portugal (six in Madeira, one in the Algarve and, soon to be, two in Lisbon) and three in Brazil (Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo and Búzios).
