Saccharum celebrates its first anniversary

The hotel was recently awarded a 9.00/10 by the Booking.com website.

The Saccharum Hotel Resort & Spa celebrated its first anniversary. The atmosphere was one of intimacy and Calheta’s good weather helped to bring together a group of personalities to congratulate the hotel on this important occasion. 

Giving us a gist of this first year, the manager of the Savoy Hotels & Resorts group, Bruno Freitas, said it was a positive one. The goal has always been that of ‘meeting the Calheta Beach’s success’ which according to Bruno Freitas was always one of the references. 

Having surpassed all expectations, this hotel, once a mere ‘fad, worked hard to implement itself and earn its rightful place’. There was a clear need in regards to strengthening ‘teams and work methods’, to the point that the number of collaborators actually doubled. 

Supporting all the work done so far is the recent score the hotel was given by Booking.com, an international bookings website: 9.00/10. 

At the end of last year, the AFA group acquired the Savoy Hotels & Resorts and in that approach, Bruno Freitas revealed, they gave ‘a first step in terms of the status of the hotel trade’ in the regional market. 

The event also served the purpose of presenting the hotel’s new brand as it now is the Savoy Saccharum Resort & SPA, as well as presenting the group’s new mascot, Savvy. 

Note that, at the moment, the Savoy Hotels & Resorts group in Madeira comprises the Royal Savoy, the Savoy Saccharum, the Savoy Calheta Beach and the Savoy Gardens.
