Jazz shines at SCAT

SCAT is bringing one of the best known artists in Portuguese jazz.

Paula Oliveira, one of the best known voices in Portuguese jazz will be returning to the Region for two days’ worth of music at the SCAT Music Club. On November 11th and 12th, jazz shines again at the Madeiran live music club with the much awaited performance of the ‘Paula Oliveira Quintet’.

With a vast resume, this nationally renowned artist started her musical career at the Conservatory of Coimbra and has been travelling nonstop to New York and Catalonia where she has kept on building herself side by side with great international musicians.

She has accustomed us to seeing her participate in TV shows and Jazz Festivals in Portugal and abroad. She directed the lead actress in the film ‘Amália’ and has an extensive and rich pedagogic career.

Now in Madeira, Paula Oliveira is joined by the usual great musicians that are José Silva – drums –, Óscar Graça – piano –, André Rosinha – bass –, and Luís Cunha – trumpet –, for a night of jazz at SCAT Music Club.
