Classical Orchestra says goodbye to 2016

‘End of Year’ concert to happen on December 28th at the Baltazar Das Municipal Theatre.

On December 28th, the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre will be host to the Madeira Classical Orchestra’s ‘End of Year’ Concert at 6 p.m.

Guided by the talented hand of Madeiran Maestro Luís Andrade, joined by renowned soprano Raquel Camarinha, the audience will be given the chance to delight in the pieces of R. Wagner, G. Verdi, G. Puccini, Mozart, R. Chapi, L. Delibes, F. Lehar and P.I. Tchaikovsky.

Born in 1979 to a family of musicians, Maestro Luís Andrade started his musical career next to his mother who taught him the ways of the violin. Later, he started learning the cello under Agostinho Henriques at the Musical Conservatory of Madeira.

With a wide ranging international academic and professional career, the maestro now collaborates with the Madeira Classical Orchestra, having done so in the past three seasons.

Having trained in Portugal and finished her Master’s in singing in Paris, soprano Raquel Camarinha has already been awarded several times. Her victories include the 1st place at the 2013 Froville Baroque Singing Competition and the 1st place at the Luísa Todi National Singing Competition. 

Well-known in several international stages, this season Raquel Camarinha is part of theatrical programmes in Rome, Paris, Lisbon and Palma de Maiorca, amongst other stages.

Tickets for the last concert of 2016 can be bought at the Baltazar Dias Municipal Theatre’s ticket shop and sell for 20€.
