Brussels will get to “Feel Madeira”

This event will promote Madeira through the sharing of stories and places.

The 3rd edition of ‘Thinking Matinee’ conference series will have the theme of Feeling Madeira. On the 14th of November, Brussels will have an afternoon dedicated to the sharing of ideas, experiences, art, knowledge and projects in the Bouche à Oreille space, with the purpose of showing the best of what is done and thought in Madeira. This is the first time such an event is dedicated to a special member state territory of the EU.

Pedro Costa (director of Quinta do Furão), Teresa Gonçalves Lobo (artista), Élvio Camacho (actor, director), Paula Cabaço (IVBAM’s president), José Manuel Castanheira (former chancellor of the University of Madeira), João Baptista (researcher), Fátimas Lopes (stylist), Reginal Pereira (manager of Quinta Pedagógica), Miguel Sequeira (lecturer), João Rodrigues (sailor), Pedro Quartin Graça (blogger for Ilhas Selvagens) and Nini Andrade (designer) are the names composing the ‘Thinking Matinee’ conference panels.

This group of speakers is sure to impress the denizens of Brussels by sharing their stories of success and places which do not always make the tourist itineraries.

Musical entertainment, conferences and a typical Madeiran dinner will be some of the activities included in this year’s program and will have the presence of Américo Pereira (wine expert), Zé Pedro Cobra (comedian), Henrique Amoedo (artistic director) and the Fado group, Fatum. Organizers are expecting about two hundred people for the event.

All the profits of TM2015 will go towards supporting the ‘Dançando com a Diferença’ (dancing with difference) dance company, a project to be presented by the Femmes d’Europe Association.
