The ‘Ensemble XXI’ strings group take irreverence to the stage at the Belmond Reid’s Palace.
Ensemble XXI offers a programme with contrasting elements for November 9th, at 9:30 p.m., an ‘irreverent’ Chamber Music concert to be held at the Belmond Reid’s Palace.
The group will bring back the 18th century through Mozart’s Serenade for Orchestra No. 6. This will then be contrasted with seven of Scott Joplin’s ragtimes. Two different styles brought together to make a difference in one of Funchal’s nobles spaces.
Ensemble XXI was born out of the Madeira Classical Orchestra with the goal of playing musical pieces for small strings orchestras. The group’s repertoire also includes national composers such as Joly Braga Santos and Vianna da Mota.
