Funchal in photos

An exhibition that portrays the capital of Madeira in the first half of the 20th century.

“Everyday life as a city’s heritage” is the title of a new exhibition by the Regional Office for the Economy, Tourism and Culture, which depicts the city of Funchal in the first half of the 20th century.

The inauguration will be on Tuesday, the 4th of August, at 18:00, at the Espaço Infoart of the Regional Office, in Avenida Arriaga.

The event will be attended by the Regional Secretary Eduardo Jesus and consist of a presentation of selected pictures chosen from the collection of Photografia – Vicentes Museum, taken in the first half of the 20th century, which illustrate landscapes, traditions, daily routines, habits and experiences of that time.

The exhibition will stay until the 24th of August and entrance is free of charge.
