IVBAM: three cities in four days

Madeira Wine will be brought to the forefront in Paris, London and Hamburg.

Between the 26th and the 29th of October, the Institute of Wine, Embroidery and Crafts of Madeira, I.P. (IVBAM), will be holding Madeira wine tastings in three of its major export markets: France, Germany and the United Kingdom.

The activities program for the three cities is similar starting at 3:30 p.m. with open wine tastings lasting until 7p.m. Simultaneously, there will be a masterclass on Madeira wine from 3:30 to 5p.m. which includes a presentation on the Wine Region of Madeira describing its unique properties and finishes with a commented tasting of Madeira Wine. These tastings will have the presence of highly respected Portuguese wine critic Rui Falcão as a guest speaker.

Tastings are specifically meant for those involved in the wine trade, such as importers, retailers, sommeliers and the specialized press.

Besides IVBAM’s representative, the event will also have the participation of wine firms Madeira Wine Company, Justinos Madeira Wines, Henriques & Henriques, Vinhos Barbeito, Pereia de Oliveira and HMBorges,

The investment in promotion in these European markets is related to their importance in terms of the exports of Madeira Wine being that they occupy the top positions in the exports chart where they have a total weight of 36% which, in 2014, meant a business volume of 6.505.836 euros.
