The last eve of the Atlantic Festival will see a special dinner being hosted at the William restaurant, with a view of the bay of Funchal.
A challenge was issued for chefs to blend flavours and the end result is the ‘Six Chefs, Six Flavours’ at the Belmond Reid’s Palace’s William restaurant. A dinner party sporting a great view for that which will be the last night of this year’s edition of the Atlantic festival which has filled the skies of Funchal with colourful fireworks on every Saturday of June.
This gastronomic feast is scheduled for the 25th of June and is bound to pay tribute to the richness and diversity of Portuguese flavours.
The creative menu gathers signature dishes by Michel van der Kroft, chef at the famous Restaurant Nonnetji in the Netherlands, awarded two Michelin stars, whose ties to Portugal come from his Portuguese wife; Chef Joachim Koerper from the Eleven Restaurant in Lisbon, awarded one Michelin star; Chef Ricardo Costa, from Yeatman Hotel in Porto, awarded one Michelin Star; and Chef João Rodrigues, from the Feitoria Restaurant, also awarded one Michelin star. This menu is to be complemented by dishes from Executive Chef Luís Pestana and Pastry Chef Pedro Campas, from the Belmond Reid’s Palace.
Smoked eel, lobster crunch, braised mullet, and Iberian pork are amongst the dishes to be served in this ‘six Chefs, Six Flavours’ evening, an event in which regional products are to be paired with wine.
The event is scheduled to start with a cocktail at 7:30 p.m. and costs 95 euros per person, including the selection of wines from the menu.
With a privileged view over the bay of Funchal, the William is the signature restaurant of the Belmond Reid’s Palace, a hotel that opened back in 1891.
